Pressure created the diamond

The diamond is considered the most precious stone. But what does a diamond begin as? Carbon- which in graphite is black. Well, this carbon, as a result of tremendous pressure and very high temperature, transforms over time into a diamond, the most brilliant of all stones. When people look in wonder at a diamond, they consider only its appearance and the qualities it now displays. They do not pause to think what it has had to undergo to acquire its brilliance, hardness and resilience, which make it so remarkable. In the same way, when we are before a great sage, a great initiate, we are amazed at the light and strength that emanate from him; we do not think of the difficulties he has had to overcome to acquire them. The history of an initiate is in some ways similar to the history of the diamond. At first, he too may have been only simple carbon, but thanks to the enormous pressures he has had to endure (his ordeals) and the great heat he has …

Count on the spirit within

As long as you trust in external conditions or material objects, you are headed for great disillusionment, because conditions change from one moment to another, and objects slip away from you. The only thing you can truly count on is the spirit within, which is pure activity and constant effort. Use all the external means, if you have them, and thank heaven for giving them to you, but do not count on them. Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov

Entering the silence

“We all need silence. We particularly need the silence of nature, for it is in nature that we have our roots. Sometimes, when you are alone in a forest or up in the mountains, you feel as though you were being carried back into a distant past, into an era in which human beings were in communion with the forces and the spirits of nature. And if the call of a bird or the sound of a waterfall is heard, it is as though these very sounds were part of the silence: rather than destroying it, they emphasize and contribute to it…. For, quite often, we are not even conscious of silence; we don’t notice it. It takes the sound of a twig snapping, a bird singing or a pebble falling to suddenly awaken us  to an acute perception of the silence around us. Even the subdued roaring of the waves cannot destroy the profound silence of the oceans. Many people confuse silence with solitude. That is why they are afraid of silence: they are …

Pentecost-the dove, the flame and the higher Self

We are told in the Gospels that when Jesus received baptism in the river Jordan, the Holy Spirit was seen to descend upon him in the form of a dove. And the Acts of the Apostles also relate that, on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came down into the house where all the disciples were gathered and rested on each one as a tongue of fire. The descent of the Holy Spirit in humans is symbolic and is found in different forms in all spiritual traditions. But just because the Holy Spirit is said to ‘descend’ in humans, we should not think of it as an entity outside of them. What is manifesting is their own higher self, the divine quintessence placed in them by the Creator. When a person is said to receive the Holy Spirit, it means that they have succeeded in contacting their own spirit, their higher self. The Holy Spirit is a cosmic principle, a pure emanation of the Divine, and our higher self is of the same nature. …

The secret to becoming tireless

In order to remain active all day without feeling tired, it is essential to take a moment to relax from time to time. But just two or three times is not enough… Ten, fifteen or twenty times a day, you must stop the relentless inner movement, so that you can be recharged with new energy. And you only need a minute each time. Wherever you are, when you have a moment, instead of remaining tense about a difficult situation or becoming impatient at having to wait and so on, turn it to your advantage by going inside yourself and saying, ‘Thank you, Lord; this is another opportunity that’s been given to me to calm down and find my balance again.’ Call on the light, concentrate on a colour, say a formula… Then you will resume your activity with renewed strength and enthusiasm and clearer ideas. And don’t worry that you are wasting time: you will more than make up for it. Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov     Daily Meditations  23rd May 2015

Learn to work with light- video

Learn to work with light, and you will understand that it is light that will bring you true riches. Thanks to light, even your relationships with those around you will improve. Why? Because when we live in abundance, we become generous and open to others. We feel the need to understand them and help them, and we are much less demanding and harsh with them. So make a habit of concentrating on light. Think that you are attracting it, introducing it into yourself, so that it fills your whole being with particles of the greatest purity. And when you feel that this light has become a part of you, make a practice of sending it out into space to help all your brothers and sisters on earth. When you have really learned to work with light- with the seven  colors that make up white light- you will discover all the power, clarity, purity and intelligence that light contains, for each color is the expression of a power or a virtue.  Work with the qualities of the seven …

Music is the breathing of the soul

Everything in nature sings and vibrates: all creatures emit vibrations which are diffused around them in the form of musical waves. This is why it is true to say that everything in nature is music. There is music in a rushing stream, in the murmur of a spring, in the patter of raindrops, in the roar of a cataract and the ceaseless ebb and flow of the ocean waves. There is music in the voice of the wind, in the rustling of leaves and the chirping of birdsong. And the music of nature constantly arouses and stimulates the musical element in human beings, kindling in them the desire to express themselves through the medium of a musical instrument or through song. When human beings feel the need to communicate their feelings and emotions it is to music that they turn spontaneously: when they want to express their deepest religious sentiment they turn to music; all their joys and sorrows. their love and every profound experience is expressed in music. Music is the breathing of man’s …
