Why does hatred exist?

Animosity and hatred arise between human beings because face-to-face with one another they are never conscious that they are in the presence of a spirit, a spark that is seeking to manifest itself and that, in order to help this spirit before them, it is worth their while to be kind, patient, understanding and generous. Given the way they are used to seeing each other and what they see in each other when they meet, it is inevitable that they end up wanting to kill each other. And even some who have, supposedly, placed the love of God and others as the foundation of their religion, do they not continue to live in hostility and confrontation? Yes. And why? Precisely because they never see beyond people’s lower nature. If they understood that there was a soul and spirit in them to which they could relate, they would feel obliged to behave differently. Meditation for Springtime

You received so much this morning at sunrise, what is there left to add? I am here to interpret certain phenomena, to explain things to you, that is all…for the rest you must address yourself to the sun. Look at the work he does on all the little seeds that were fast asleep! He says, ‘What are you waiting for? It is time to give! Come on, get to work!’  ‘But we are too weak!’ ‘No,no. come on try! You will see, I will help you’, and the tiny seeds take courage. each day the sun warms them, caresses them, speaks to them and in a little while the most magnificent flowers appear to inspire poets, painters and musicians. Why should it not be the same for us? We are seeds that have been planted somewhere in the spiritual soil, and when we are warmed by the sun’s rays, we give off colors and perfumes so exquisite that even the gods are in ecstasy. If we become like flowers, why would the Divine beings not …

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! On this first day of the year, you are all full of hope! You tell yourselves, “I didn’t get what I was hoping for during the last year, but now, with the new year, I shall.” Each new year brings hope even to the most despondent. Even if deep down they may not be so convinced, they still have some hope. With each new year hope is reborn: you cannot help but think that something is going to improve for you, that a door will open. You will say, “And what if nothing improves and no door opens?” At least one door will open if you believe you have to do something to make it happen. And what is that? Picture yourself in particular situations in your life, and imagine you are behaving fairly, wisely and lovingly. By working in this way, you are already preparing your future. If you are sincere and persevere, you will have an influence on the forces of nature and the beings of light in the invisible …

Meeting with angels of light

Whether you are alone in nature or in your room, you are in fact never alone; entities are part of your life. Those who work for the good are always encountering entities of light who rejoice with them and help them in difficult times by affording them glimpses of a way out of their problems, of solutions to them. Most of the time this happens unbeknown to them. But if they strive to become aware of these benevolent presences, they will benefit much more from them. How to draw these entities to you? With your love. Think as often as possible of sending them a smile, a glance, a beam from your heart, while saying, ‘O you who inhabit the vastness of space, I love you, I wish to understand you, to be in harmony with you.’ Perhaps no-one around you will notice that you have sent a message out into space, but the entities will, and they will receive your love and rejoice, sending love back to you a hundredfold. These are true exchanges, …

Autumn gold

Why do alchemists describe the transformation of matter in the Great Work as a sequence of colours? Because they have observed this sequence in the world of vegetation. Think of fruit trees, for example: except for some nuances – for nature is rich in variety – they pass through a series of colours, and always in the same order. In winter, the trees are black and bare. In spring, they become white with flowers and green with leaves. Then comes summer, and the ripening fruits turn yellow and red. In autumn the foliage turns red and gold, and with red and gold the process is finished. It is the end of the cycle, as it is in the work of alchemy. Like vegetation, human beings must inwardly pass through all the phases of the alchemical process: they die, then they are reborn, resurrecting with new virtues and powers: new colours. The living cross and invisible beings of light

Space is not something vague and undefined. It is subject to a structure which corresponds to the number 4: the four cardinal points. But what are the four cardinal points other than a cross? When initiates are about to start a work, they turn successively to each of the four directions in space, thereby drawing a cross, indicating that their spirit is about to start work. Each of the four cardinal points is presided over by an archangel: Michael for the east, Gabriel for the west, Uriel for the north and Raphael for the south. Since initiates understand the living cross, all the light beings respond to their call and come to participate in their work. This ritual of turning towards the four cardinal points has been perpetuated in the Christian religion in the form of the ‘sign of the cross’. When Christians move their right hand from their forehead, to their solar plexus, and then to their left shoulder, then their right shoulder (or vice-versa, to their right shoulder and then their left shoulder) …

The Joys of Wisdom

“A sage is someone who has succeeded in ridding himself of the useless burdens of life. He has gone beyond his internal regions of clouds and dust, that is, the astral and mental planes (selfish, common feelings and thoughts) and risen to the regions of eternal sunshine. And his only wish is to pass on to others the wisdom he has won at the cost of great effort. But it takes so long to get people to understand what we ourselves have understood! So the only thing a sage can communicate immediately is the joy he derives from this wisdom, a joy that overflows from his soul and which we could also call love. And those who receive this joy and love are made to reflect because of it. Let them at least ask themselves in what way they too could attain the same state of consciousness.” Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov Daily Meditations 29th September 2015
