Water- messenger of the Universal Soul

You are in contact with water every day and in different ways. But how many of you are aware that water, by its very nature and properties, is a physical expression of the universal Soul? Through the medium of water, the universal Soul sends messages. If you do not receive them, it is because your psychic channels are still blocked. But if you free these channels by nurturing pure thoughts and feelings, you will raise yourself up to the realm of heavenly water, which will fill you with its purity and transparency. So learn to love water, to work with it. Fill a bowl with water, and lean over it while concentrating on beautiful, harmonious and poetic images. You may even see them, because water is the true magic mirror. But the main thing is to feel the presence of these images within you, because their etheric, light-filled substance nourishes the soul. Replay happy memories

You have all experienced moments of joy and happiness. Well, seek out these moments. Even if there were only three or four in your life, or only one, return to them often: recall the place, the circumstances, the people… Try hard to recover the same thoughts, the same feelings, the same sensations. Gradually you will have the impression you are reliving these states, with the same intensity as if you truly were experiencing them here and now for the first time. It is always what you feel inside that is most important, not what comes from outside. So seek out all those times when you understood and felt the beauty and meaning of life. Make all such moments available for times when you will need them. This gives you yet another way of working. And even ensure that you have a choice of memories. For just as a certain piece of music is better suited to your inner state depending on the circumstances, so a particular memory will help you more than another and bring …

Good Friday-sacrifice and the beauty of the new life

By accepting to die on the cross, Jesus made a sacrifice, and we must meditate on this in order to measure the grandeur of it, and to link ourselves to it through thought. But in the new life which the Christ is now proposing, it is not recommended that we dwell on the suffering of the cross, because the Christ also manifests through beauty, joy and light. In the new society, it is thoughts of the glory of Christ that must nourish our inner life. Heaven rejoices that we no longer kiss the ground and kneel beside graves, because there is a more glorious future in store for us. And if there are dead to be tended to, it is not those in the cemeteries, but those buried deep inside us: our old habits and our old misconceptions. These are the dead we must seek out and be done with! When we succeed in this, we too will enter into the glory of Christ. Universal, unconditional love

Seek to help and show love for all human beings without expecting anything in return, because they are all our brothers and sisters. In doing so, the reward is already given to you in that inner sense of expansion and that extraordinary sensation of warmth that fill you when you love. This is a marvellous reward; life contains none greater. Your heart can then be likened to a flowing spring. Human beings always expect to be rewarded for what they do. Those who have understood the secret of love don’t even expect receiving anything in return, for they already have a taste of the happiness that nothing else could bring them. And, because they are fulfilled and have no expectations, they radiate joy and win the trust of many friends. What better reward could you hope to find. Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov I read this passage this morning as it is the Daily Meditation for today. I think the idea it expresses is very closely related to the passage I posted a few days ago- Nature …

When you meditate….strive high

“When you meditate, strive to go very high inside yourself and then to remain that high for as long as possible. Going high and remaining there means never failing to be noble, fair and generous, which also implies knowing how to ‘come down’ to help your fellow brothers and sisters. Though you are living and working on the earth among human beings, you should avoid coming down inside yourself, that is to say, avoid giving way to lower tendencies or taking part in selfish, dishonest endeavours. Remaining up high does not mean imitating people who are haughty, unapproachable and hard, people who would think it demeaning to extend a hand to others who are weaker, less gifted, less well educated or of lower social rank. It is quite the opposite. And once again we must use the example of the sun. The sun comes down to us, and through its rays it warms us, brings us light, communicates its life to us and sends us its messages. But the sun itself remains forever on high.” …

Meditation, contemplation, concentration

“Meditation is an activity of the mind- an attempt to deepen your understanding of spiritual truths. Contemplation, on the other hand, is an activity of the heart or soul- you dwell on an image, a quality or a virtue in order to rejoice in its light and beauty and be in communion with it. And on a higher level still, there is the magical activity of identification by which the will and the spirit identify with the creator in order to create. Some days you will feel inclined to work with the mind: to think and search and ponder, this is meditation. On other days, when you are in a state of hamony, peace and bliss, you may feel drawn to contemplation. And then there are other days when your will manifests itself more strongly and you feel the need to do something, to create, to set in motion invisible forces. You have all certainly experienced these three states even though you may not have recognised them or been able to define them. But you need …

Om Tat Sat- I am That

‘If you apply your spirit and all your love, every day, to the practice of identification with the supreme being, the source of life, the first cause, the Father of all creatures, there will be a moment when it will be as though God himself and all his splendour, power, love and wisdom were with you. The initiates of India and Tibet all work on identification. They have this formula. ‘I am That’ which they repeat constantly for years. In this way they try to eliminate any notion of separation between human beings and the Godhead. God alone exists and human beings are simply one of his manifestations. After years of  practising this exercise of identification, an initiate is capable of working miracles. Yes, in fact, it is very simple, but human beings are busy with other things. They never think about identifying with the Deity; they prefer to identify with animals. When they have lived together for years, the master begins to look like his dog instead of the dog looking like his master! So, …
